I had my first panic attack over a month ago while I was driving, and ever since then I have been afraid to drive at night in fear of another panic attack happening. After the first time I have had a c ouple more all while I was driving at night and had to pull over until it passed. I don’t know why I am having them but it feels like they are getting worse. Is there anyway I can prevent them from happening?
I know how you feel because I started having panic attacks when i was 16 years old. I still get them every now and then but the difference between then and now is now I know how to control them. I’ll give you a few steps to help, and also Im a nurse and i’ve studied this.
panic attacks are usually caused from stress. So what you need to do is identify the cause of your stress. Once you’ve done that you can figure out ways to avoid triggering that stress. For example, Im a huge procrastinator, and because its a habit for me it also stresses me out, which gets me panicky sometimes. So now that I know that I avoid procrastination as much as possible. Repeated panic attacks are caused from fear of having another panic attack, and stress added on. You also feel like your dying, but heres what I do when I get one. First you need to know the symptoms of a panic attack which is chest tightness or pain, numbness and tingling in the fingers, having trouble breathing, and feeling weak. If you know that then the next time that happens you’ll know that your just having a panic atttack, and not a heart attack. An exercise you can use when an attack comes is cupping both your hands over your mouth and breathing in and out really fast ( I know it sounds weird but it actually decreases the hyperventilation and gets you to focus on fast breathing). So now that you know all this next time when you get one you’ll know that its just a panic attack and your not gonna die from it. I would also reccomend keeping a stress/anxiety diary. It helped me a lot back in high school. Hope I helped.

I’m a young girl learning taekwondo and aikido. Recently, I had a quarrel with a big, fat, stupid but rich girl. When she was angrily trying to slap me, I easily counter with taekwondo kick. She fell and start crying. That time I think I’m an expert, but then proved wrong ![]()
The girl’s father, watched her daughter being kicked. He was a big, fat man. He got angry and attacked me. I got panic, and try another kick. While my kick accurate, but didn’t stop him from come closer. I tried desperately my akikido but also failed, and he push me down to the ground, put his hands on my neck, and strangulate me. I was very scared and crying. As result, i got broken ribs and nearly dead by strangulation.
Why my taekwondo and aikido failed to stop the angry father from attacking me?

Hey, I understand how you feel…
The uncomfortable symptoms like sweaty palms, "jelly" legs, extreme alertness, "impending doom" feeling and the fight-or-flight response.
I’ve been there. I’m an ex-victim. Sometimes the deep breathing or distraction techniques doesn’t work – a full-blown panic or anxiety attack happens later.
Sometimes you experience panic attack out of the blue and such.
Do NOT buy Panic Away, Linden Method, EasyCalm or the Panic Puzzle. They do NOT work – I’ve tried them and their solutions are similar – it DOESN’T WORK.
Medications do NOT work – I was under many antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft) and anti-anxiety medications (Ativan, Klonopin, and Xanax) but my condition was the same – no improvement at all.
The only program that really work is The Panic Attack Solution. It’s found by an ex-victim. You can check out his old blog in his official website to read up some useful tips.
But the package is the best – it teaches 17 powerful techniques and the real solution to panic attacks . I’ve bought it and it really helped me – it’s the BEST anti-anxiety package or book I’ve read.
His theory really makes sense and it works effectively!
You will learn why your panic attacks can happen without warning sometimes; why having stimulant causes panic attacks; and many-many other useful tips!
