The other answers sound good but in my life they are not real. Real is I end up having to take a nerve pill. Do try the other suggestions first but if it does not seem to work talk to you doctor about medicine.

You need to see a Psychiatrist, and get them to talk and help you resolve your anxiety. I have an anxiety disorder where I have panic attacks and is ALWAYS worried. It has ruined my life and still is. Why? Because I never got the help I needed.

Forget the hypnosis, anti-depressants, etc. – there is only one fool-proof way to prevent / stop anxiety attacks, and that is by determining your priorities in life. I used to have anxiety attacks whenever a big change occurred in life (ie. change of job, girlfriend cheated, etc.) and it was ALWAYS because my mind was divided – for example: when my ex cheated, my mind was divided "should I leave her or should I give her another chance" it is not until you write the pros and cons down on paper and determine what your best decision is that it will go away – so let’s say your problem is finances – write down all your bills on paper – write down all your expenses (ie. buying coffee every morning costs 40 dollars a month, cable costs 80 dollars a month, etc.) write down everything – and since you know the problem (debt) – all you have to do is sort it out. Same with someone who cheats on you – write down the pros and cons of staying with them.

My experience is that anxiety attacks ALWAYS come on because of a divided mind – whether a fear of flying, fear of losing someone, fear of not being able to pay bills, etc… once you determine what the fear is – or the problem is for that matter – then all you have to do is is down and write everything on paper and make the decision on how to solve that problem – and then follow through with your plan. Your attacks will go away guaranteed…

    Maybe this will help.

Here are some tips on “How to Stop a Panic Attack”

Start breathing deeply – in through the nose, out through the mouth.
Think relaxing thoughts, and again, while breathing in, think “Relax,” and
    then breathe out.

Maybe if you just try to relax your muscles. Tense both shoulders, hold
for 10 seconds, then release. Try it again.

IF the adrenaline is really pumping through your system, your body is
tingling with uncomfortable sensations, and now the dreaded feeling of losing
complete control engulfs your emotions. No one around you has any idea of the
sheer terror you are experiencing. For them, it’s just a regular day and
another frustratingly slow line at the grocery store.

You realize you are out of options. It’s time to run. You excuse yourself
from the line looking embarrassed. There is no time for excuses—you need to be
alone. You leave the supermarket and get into your car to ride it out alone.

It’s important to realize that these anxiety attacks are very real to
the people who are having them and they should never be pushed off to the side.

Please remember there is hope for you and there are many ways to overcome Panic
    Attacks and Anxiety.

Another great method you can use to stop these attacks is to learn when
it is happening, and then immediately pick something up and focus all of
your attention on it. Start to describe the object to yourself. Tell yourself
how it looks, feels, what color it is, etc. Alternatively, you can get into
knitting. Knitting requires all of your attention and with all of the soft
yarns available it will feel great in your hands as well.

There are many things you can do to trick your mind out of having a
anxiety attack. There are panic attack and anxiety treatment options online
that are designed to trick your mind out of experiencing a Panic Attack and
they do a really great job.

When you are able to stop panic attacks before they start, you will
never have to worry about being in a social situation where you are
    panicking ever again.
